Even dead and dry, you can still get poison ivy. Use gloves and wear long sleeves. Once it's dead for a while, it should pull off. My take a year or so. And don't burn it. Smoke will carry it.

Chicke, try "Brush-b-Gone". (I'm pretty sure that's the product name). I use it a lot, and it's very effective in killing poison ivy. It doesn't happen overnight, but in a few days, the ivy does die.

Anything containing 2-4-D will kill it. It won't harm the grass, just the broadleaf weeds that are in it. I've also found a great all-purpose kill-everything plant killer. Here's the recipe: 2 qts...
